interesting volunteer opportunity?

Just ran into a fellow-traveler who spent a month volunteering near the Burmese border–working with the hilltribes, trying to save young girls from being drawn into the Asian sex trade. She gave me the email of a local volunteer coordinator–most of the NGOs will only take a few western volunteers at a time, but this woman apparently knows everyone.

So I’ve sent her an email (emailed the body painter too 😉 )–will see what (if anything) happens.

Late start today, may not make it out of Bangkok ’til tomorrow evening. I’ve been advised to take the night train south, in any case.
