Small world

Just got an email from an old college friend:

By the way, and on the topic of “It’s a small world, innit it?”… there’s a monthly gaming group up here, hosted by my friend Charles (a Scurve of our era) and his wife Noelle (a Stanford type of similar vintage.) There are moderate contingents of people from both Tech and Stanford who come by regularly.

So a couple of weeks ago I show up, and Charles says, “Want to hear something funny? You know our friend B., the one who went to Stanford?”

“Yes…” I say.

“We just found out that he used to date Tien.”

I’m excited! I dated this guy twenty years ago (my freshman year of college) and completely lost touch with him afterwards…it’ll be interesting to hear what he’s been up to for the last decade or two. But it’s pretty funny to think that I “found” him through a friend of a friend up in Seattle!

Anyway, I’m hoping I can get back in touch with him – I like to keep in touch with my ex’s.
