I am pleased to announce that I have just accepted an offer from Wallop, a 20-person startup in San Francisco! They were looking for a program manager, Microsoft-style, which means a mix of program and product management. So I will not only be managing projects, but also helping design the product. I’m very excited.
The only downside is that it being a startup, I’ll probably have to work late hours, etc. I’m hoping this doesn’t interfere with my training for the Death Ride. I think I can manage juggling for another three months…after that I can go back to having only one obsessive time sink. 🙂
Anyway, I’m very very pleased. I start at Wallop on April 30.

Ooooh, congratulations and good luck, especially with the work / life balance.
As a Unix SA who lives in San Francisco who is between jobs at the moment, I naturally was a bit curious, but it doesn’t look like Wallop is ready for dudes like us just yet. I hope they make good use of your PM skills.
Cheers,
-danny
