I’ve just finished threading up the loom for my white silk huck lace shawl, and was going to finish sleying the reed tonight, but I’ve been diverted by a crisis: an AIDS Lifecycle rider needs a tutu for Red Dress Day! So I am going to make him a tutu tonight. I think I have some red sparkly fabric, if not I’ll have to dye some of the oodles of silk I have sitting around. I’ll also have to make him an under-tutu, I think, because his waist size is vastly larger than mine (38″ vs 31). I don’t think my under-tutus will fit him, even with elastic!
Anyway, that will slow down my weaving by a couple of days. I’m a little disappointed but not by much – it’s nice to know that even if I can’t ride AIDS Lifecycle this year, one of my tutus will! And, of course, it’s nice to help out another rider. I’ll post a pic of him in the tutu (if I can get one) when I’m done.
