China photos up

I’ve gotten the rest of my China photos up – check them out!

Nothing much new here – started weaving the second batch of placemats yesterday, and wove about 1.5 placemats before moving on to sewing up the final (I hope!) muslin for the champagne-silk-and-red-velvet tutu.  If that one is satisfactory, I’ll move on to sewing the real thing.  A lot of work for one silly pattern, but hopefully it will be worth it.

After that I plan to make a cheongsam pattern (top only) out of some hot pink (okay, more like fuchsia) silk/rayon brocade, and make a tutu out of the same fabric.  After that I’m not sure – may involve something handwoven, may not.

Fighting off a general sense of malaise today, probably unemployment kicking in.  It’s also  possible/probable, though, that I just need more exercise – going to see my personal trainer today.  Friday – Saturday – Sunday I may get out on the bike again, for the first time in nearly a month.
