Many, many cramped hours later, I have finished threading the loom. Now I need to sley the reed, tie on, and then I can start WEAVING! I expect it to take me another two or three hours before I can start weaving, but then I plan to go gangbusters at it all afternoon.
It is now very, very unlikely that I’ll be able to take the finished piece to Maryland with me (I would have to be able to weave at near-lightspeed to do so), but my fallback plan is to weave the 75″ solid black weft section first (it’s used as a binding for the jacket edges) and then, if I don’t finish the rest, I can just take the 75″ piece and wear it as a shawl while I’m at home. It’ll be pretty, I can collect compliments on it 🙂 and I’ll feel like I accomplished something with all this effort.
Back to work. Pretty pictures soon.

I can not believe you did it all in one day! Congratulations!
