Creating a handweavers' resource site; Joomla

In a fresh burst of enthusiasm, I’ve decided to create a resource site for handweavers.  I’ve already gotten a domain name and a hosting account through my favorite hosting provider, Omnis.com, and installed Joomla (an open-source content management system).  I’m not going to post the domain name just yet since I only just got started (i.e., there’s nothing there), but I’m pretty serious about getting this set up.  I’ve ordered a book on Joomla and it should be arriving Monday.  I figure in a couple of weeks I’ll be ready to bring in beta testers – I probably won’t have as much time for weaving as a result, but this is such an interesting project I can’t resist.  I figure that by the time I finish configuring, customizing, etc. the site I should be pretty good at both Joomla and PHP, with the possibility of some MySQL expertise thrown in.

Whee!  I think this is going to be an interesting adventure.
