I finished weaving the incandescent orange shawl yesterday; here are some not-very-good photos of the not-quite finished shawl (I still need to twist the fringe and wet-finish it). I’ve shown one photo of it draped and one of it crumpled to show off the contrasting fiery shades. Now I’m engaged in the infinite process of twisting fringe, both for the fire shawl and the one woven with black weft. (Yes, I finished both yesterday – it was a very productive weaving day.) I figure that’ll take me most of today, though if I’m lucky I might get to winding the warp for bookmarks.
And, I am temporarily employed! I’ll be contracting with Balsam Hill, an artificial Christmas tree manufacturer, as a product manager, for 4-6 weeks. That should take me through another round of the interview process, and give me some cash cushion should I not find a job through then. I also get to work with some really great people whom I liked a lot when I interviewed, so I’m really excited. I’ll probably start week after next, assuming we can work out all the details.
