Priuscilla, Queen of the Desert

After five days of frantic research, six hours of test-drives, and quite a bit of bargaining, I reached the apotheosis of car-buying yesterday, and a brand-new Toyota Prius followed me home.  Please welcome Priuscilla, Queen of the Desert!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Where on earth did you come up with THAT name?

A: The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a great cult movie about two drag queens and a transsexual who travel the desert in a fabulous old bus called Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Q: Well, okay, but what has a bus got to do with a Prius?

A: Both carry fabulous drag outfits (tutus), and are pretty fabulous themselves.  Priuscilla (it’s a silent “u”, by the way) the Prius admires Priscilla the bus and would like to grow up to have red stiletto heels in her roof.

Q: Do all your vehicles have personalities?

A: Yes, of course!

Fortunately, with the arrival of Priscilla, I have wheels again (engine-powered wheels, that is), so I managed to get in most of the training ride that I missed yesterday while car-shopping.  I am now finally in a position to get my life back to normal again.  Hopefully this will include getting back to sewing/weaving.
