I completed the final muslin for my peacock-feather top yesterday night, and today I began sewing on feathers. I’ve sewn together a lightweight China silk version of the panels I plan to cover in feathers, and have started sewing on the blue body feathers. I clearly have my job cut out for me, as the feathers are fairly small and have to overlap considerably to get the coverage I want – but I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to finish it before The Ride. I just wonder how many feathers it will take to cover this!
No news on other fronts; work’s been busy and is about to get even busier, meaning my life has been boring lately. I also have a cold that I’m trying to kick before I go ride 65 miles in the Cinderella Century on Saturday.
