A thing of beauty

loom, warped and ready to go
loom, warped and ready to go

Finished warping and tying-on last night.  Today I will start weaving samples…

If you are wondering about the plethora of tiny knots in one of the magenta sections, it’s because a certain unnamed weaver stupidly cut one section about 6″ shorter than the other ones.  Since I’m a little tight for warp with 4 shawls + samples to come off the loom, I tied 44 dummy ends onto the loom.  I would have lashed on to save a little more warp, but I couldn’t figure out how to re-wind the warp onto the sectional beam without it catching on the sectional dividers.  So I just tied on instead.

Can’t WAIT to get all the threading/sleying mistakes out, and start weaving samples!  After two weeks of planning, it will be a real delight to watch it develop.
