After a couple of days in the creative doldrums, I finally got off my butt and started weaving again. I wove nearly four feet yesterday, completing my final shawl and (since I had a little bit of warp left) launching into yardage. So far I’ve woven two feet of yardage and think I can get about another foot and a half more. 42 inches of 24″ wide warp doesn’t sound like much, but I think it’s enough to sew the bodice (or at least the front of the bodice) for an AIDS Lifecycle outfit! I think that will be beautiful, and I’ve always dreamed of having a handwoven tutu, so this is a perfect opportunity. Very little additional effort. I think I may do this with all my leftover warps!
I have also wound all the dyed yarn for the coat into balls, ready for warping. I plan to finish weaving up the last of the current warp today, and start winding the yarn for the coat samples. At only 8″ wide, 4 yards long, and 24 epi, I think I should be able to get the samples beamed and threaded tonight. I hope, anyway!
