Pretty pictures of proper progress

I guess I’m just in a “P” mood today…

Thanks to Janet’s suggestion of paste wax, today’s weaving went much more smoothly.  I’m still breaking threads, but only every three inches or so.  That I can live with.  I’ve also wrapped all the loose threads around little cardboard bobbins so the back of the loom doesn’t look like such a rat’s-nest anymore.

I have now woven 30″ in the 140/2 weft, and celebrated by cutting off the 60/2 weft sample and 6″ of the 140/2 weaving, so I could wet-finish it and see how it looks on a larger scale.  I draped it over the dress form and took some  photos:

Needless to say, you are not going to see the beautiful pattern unless you click on the photo to view the larger image.  So click away!  It’s gorgeous.

Here’s another photo (again, you’ll have to click to zoom in):

And now, back to Weavolution.  It’s absolutely insanely busy, and I wish there were three of me!

Tien, could you explain a little about what you do when you cut off part of your weaving? I know that rug weavers just roll the weaving back on the cloth beam, but I can’t imagine how you could get going again with such fine cloth without having tension issues.
