Preparing to fly

Today is my last day at the old job, so I am wrapping up the last few elements at work, but expect it to be very slow.  Which is good, because it’s almost time to fly out to Laura’s!!  I am SO excited.  This is a WONDERFUL opportunity to study weaving.  I can’t wait.

But, of course, I need to tie off some loose ends here first.  So, today I’ll spend finishing off the sour cherry jam and the candied cherries (sour and sweet).  Then it’s off to Laura’s!

Laritza asked whether the warping wheel was creating problems, tension-wise.  I don’t think so.  I made a lot of mistakes in beaming on, so I think the problems are despite the warping wheel, not because of it.

And I’ve decided to cut off the warp.  Partly because of the problems, but partly also because I want the loom free to weave up those samples for the articles I’m writing for Complex Weaver’s.  I have some really cool ideas that I think I can weave up quickly, and it would be a great break from the endless weaving of fine yarns.  I might even be able to try out the summer and winter ideas for the coat, too, if I can get those figured out at Laura’s!
