Hand-basted beauty

I completed the edge-finishing this morning, sewed busily away at lunchtime, and just finished basting the coat!  And OMG, is it beautiful…words are inadequate, so here are two photos:

It’s unbelievably beautiful and regal, even only partially complete.  I am agog with wonder.  All I can think is, “I made that???”

Tomorrow evening I’m going up to Sharon’s again.  She has completed the inner corset/foundation and attached the dress to it, but will not put in the lining until I (drum roll please) have attached the lace and pearls!  It will be easier to sew in the lace without the lining.  So Thursday morning will be a wonderful play session, as I baste the lace into its final position and start (carefully, carefully!) sewing it down.

This is so amazing Tien. It is like watching the birth of your first child. Maybe you can take the remaining yardage from the coat and finish it off and enter that in the yardage exhibit at Convergence.

Tien, you never cease to amaze! That is just a masterpiece. Any chance of your putting it on show somehow at upcoming conferences?
