Wedding favors

Tonight, I fiddled around with some sheets of heat-activated adhesive, and came up with this:

Wedding favor bookmarks
Wedding-favor bookmarks

One side is coat fabric, the other side is dress fabric, with an iron-on adhesive between them.  It seems to work quite nicely – doesn’t peel/separate, stays flexible, and keeps the cut edges from fraying.

AND, the Resident Critic (aka Mike) gives it his seal of approval: “Hey, that looks pretty neat!”

I went through my pile of scraps, and I have enough to do 75 bookmarks, and will still have over 1/2 yard of coat fabric left over, and plenty more of the dress fabric.  So I am pleased.  I think we can consider the wedding favors settled.

Tomorrow: on to writing the ceremony!  Thank you very much for all the emails/comments reassuring me about the ceremony; I’m starting to think I can get a handle on it now.  At least, I can start the first draft, and after that it’s usually much easier.

Bookmarks look great. At first I thought that you were making a necktie for Mike. What is he wearing? Something handwoven?

The favours look very nice. Good solution. And I know you’ll be fine on The Day – the anticipation is worse than the actual. 😀

    Cheers,
    Laura

Please save enough of the coat and dress fabric for a lovely gown for your first child, should you decide to have one. One more heirloom to add to the collection and from that wonderful fabric you worked so hard to create.
