New Traveling Tiger logo

My designer friend finished my logo revamp for me!  Here is the new one:

I like it!  It’s more dynamic and streamlined than the original:

original Chinese paper-cut tiger

Mind you, I like the original too, but this simplified version will be easier to apply to fabrics (silkscreen, embroider, etc.) because it is not quite as full of fiddly details.

I am still debating whether to silkscreen my new sigil onto the inside of the Kodachrome jacket.  On the one hand, it would be just wonderful to have it inside the jacket.  On the other, botching the job would require doing a LOT of rework, and I’m not sure I’m prepared to replace the lining…I may just silkscreen it in one spot instead of doing it as an overall pattern.

(In case you are wondering why my “signature” is a running tiger: when I left for my six-month journey through Southeast Asia, I registered a website for my travel photos.  This meant I had to come up with a domain name very quickly.  A friend had given me a small stuffed tiger to take with me:

The Traveling Tiger
The Traveling Tiger

…and since I was going traveling with him, I named my website The Traveling Tiger, and took the domain name travelingtiger.com.  A running (traveling) tiger has been my totem ever since.)

Why not silk screen it onto a small piece of matching fabric, turn all the raw edges under, and then sew that patch of fabric onto your lining?
