Creativity runs in our family! My brother Tien-Seng and his wife Tara founded the Far Eastern Shore Winery over a decade ago. The winery is located in Easton, Maryland, on the Eastern Shore (thus the name), and makes and sells about 30,000 cases of wine per year (that’s 360,000 bottles!). They recently opened a tasting room at the winery, and I was lucky enough to go see it while I was in Maryland.
Here’s a picture of my brother behind the bar in the tasting room (yes, that ship is an antique made from real jade!):
Here’s the full wine bar:
The entryway:
There’s also seating in the front room – they hope to have events there periodically:
The banners were designed by my brother’s wife, Tara Chiu, who is a very talented professional graphic designer (she also designs the wine bottle labels):
And, finally, here is a peek into the warehouse, where cases upon cases of wine are stored:
If you’re interested in learning more about the winery (located in Easton, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore), or visiting/ordering wines from it, head on over to http://www.feswinery.com . It’s great wine – I served it at my wedding and at my book launch party, and everyone loved it!

We visit family in Maryland most years and are on the lookout for day trips. Easton is an easy ride from my sister’s home. We look forward to visiting the Far Eastern Shore Winery in the coming year.
