More weaving

Well, I’ve woven half of the gold mohair scarf so far. It’s a very simple pattern, yet that makes it more difficult to weave – any error in the treadling is glaringly obvious. It’s a moderately complex treadling pattern, too, one that forces me to keep looking down at the treadles. (I’m still occasionally mistaking treadle 4 for treadle 3, etc.) I’m hoping that I can finish it tonight, despite having to go to a company Xmas party tonight. That will leave four scarves to go…Tomorrow I have to go to B.’s company Xmas party, so I won’t be able to get any weaving done, but Thursday night is free and Friday I’m taking vacation time to concentrate on weaving. I’m pretty sure I can finish three scarves and might be able to get a fourth one woven…I will take them with me and hemstitch, twist fringe, etc. on the plane.

Travel-wise, I have sent back the packing cubes I had ordered (too big) and have bought some Eagle Creek packing cubes instead. I’m pretty sure they will work since I’ve used them before…I am starting to think of all the small items I will have to pack. I just wish I had my packing list from SE Asia!

Gave B. a digital camera for Xmas (we exchanged Xmas gifts last night). He took this photo of me, which I rather like.

B. took a photo of me...

I had a problem with one of my looms a long time ago determining the difference between treadle 3 and 4 also. I put a piece of stair tread material on #4 so that my foot could feel the difference in texture.

Great idea! I’ll have to do that as soon as I get a chance.
