Red Bricks Media

I am pleased to announce that I have just accepted a contract-to-hire position with Red Bricks Media!  They’re a search engine optimization and website development company in San Francisco (7th and Folsom, within easy biking distance from home), and they’ve hired me as a Web producer – a bit of product and a bit of project management rolled into one.  It’s a temporary contract for 3 months and then after that we’ll see if there’s mutual interest in continuing.  I liked the place a lot when I was interviewing there – hopefully it will work out.  I was getting really tired of doing interview after interview!

Meanwhile, I inserted lease sticks into the back of my skipping warp and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!  I’ve now woven several inches of nearly flawless plainweave.  I plan to experiment with other techniques to see if I can eliminate the remaining 1 skip every two inches.  Next time I beam on I will also do so using a trapeze (or something similar to a trapeze) and see if that helps with the tension.

I’m pleased.  Also very psyched at the prospect of my new job!

I love love love using a trapeze to wind on. I will never warp back to front again. I made an A-Frame trapeze out of PVC (schedule 40-the more rigid type), and use a water filled milk jug as a weight. A video is here: http://www.vavstuga.com/publish/movies.shtml

    Congrats on the new job!
