Helmet bling

I went out and bought a black helmet today at lunchtime – because every girl should have a Little Black Helmet, don’cha know?  It goes with everything, unlike my red and white helmet, which clashed terribly with the pink ostrich feathers last year.  So this year, black it was.

Later that evening I went to the Castro (the center of the gay district in San Francisco (insofar as the entire city is not one entire gay district, but that’s another matter)) in search of a bead shop.  The bead shop turned out to be closed, but on an idle whim I wandered into Cliff’s Variety Store, which does indeed sell an astonishing variety of things.  Among other things, they have rhinestone crowns and tiaras.  So what could I do?  Being a princess at heart (only boys are allowed to be queens 🙂 ), I bought myself a rhinestone tiara.  And promptly mounted it on my helmet.

Now I have helmet bling!  I think it will go nicely with pink ostrich feathers for Cinderella.

What am I saying? I meant, lemonade out of lemons.

    Open mouth, insert foot.
