Power output

Went down to Lorri’s and did a heart rate zone test yesterday.  Aside from my heart rate zones, which I’m sure are of interest only to me, I discovered that my max sustainable output is around 180 watts, which Lorri says is very good for someone my height.  Apparently I’m stronger than I think.  (Also stronger than last year, when I think Curtis tested me and found that I was around 150 watts.)

Not going to do much training this next week, I’m afraid – we’re now at T minus 8 days to my Ghana trip, and prep for the trip (obviously) comes before training.  Tonight I’m having dinner with a friend, tomorrow I go through my packing list and start figuring out what I need to buy.  I’m not particularly nervous about the trip at the moment, but perhaps that’s just because I’m busy with other stuff.  I’m BURIED at work right now trying to tie up five or six projects before I leave, so not much time to worry about other things.  In any case, I’ve been traveling before, so packing, prepping, etc. are not exactly new to me.

    Hi Tien,
I was wondering if you could share who Lori is and what measurements she can provide. Do you see this as a good means to measure progress in training ?

I to am training for my 3rd DR but just measure my time up local hills.

    Thanks,
    Brian
