Good news from the vet!

The Fuzz’s biopsy results are back and they look great!  No cancer – it turns out it’s Irritable Bowel Disease, which is controllable through steroids.  He’ll probably be popping pills for the rest of his life, but he will survive and will (hopefully) put back on some of the weight that he’s lost over the last few years.  I’m massively relieved – to be quite honest, given the way he looked when he went into ICU, I wasn’t really expecting to see him home again.  To have him home and (relatively) healthy is wonderful beyond anything I’d hoped for.

(See, modern medicine is good for some things!)

Anyway, he’s back, and he’s already eating some solid food – we’ll probably continue tube-feeding him for a few days, but he’s improving rapidly.  We have a veterinary recheck in a week, at which point the tube will come out and we’ll find out more about his long-term requirements.

Yay!!!

Its very good to hear that Fuzz is doing better. Two of my cats have needed emergency vet visits in the year, and did fine after an infusion of money. Modern medicine is indeed wonderful.

Long Live The Fuzz! It is truly amazing what money and medicine can do these days. Two of my cats should be dead, but the vets managed to save them and they have been happy for years since. May you and Fuzz be as blessed!
