Flex and ActionScript

Been learning Flex and a little bit of ActionScript coding for work, where I’m building a prototype of something so secret I’d have to kill you if I told you.  (Well, at least until it launches, anyway.)  It’s been an absolute joy to my puzzle-oriented brain – how to manipulate bits of code to get the results you want.  I’m starting to wonder if I shouldn’t have been a software engineer.  Might be interesting to try in a future life.

Anyhow, I have been putting in eleven and twelve-hour days as we attempt to make our latest milestone; we’ll be working all weekend, which will cut down on my time for riding and for weaving, alas.  I’ll be lucky to get any craftwork done this week – well, maybe over the weekend, when we’ll “only” be putting in eight hours a day, leaving me a bit of time for other things.

But meanwhile, I’m learning a lot about Flex and ActionScript, which is a good thing.  I think I may add ActionScript coding to the list of things I plan to invest some time in learning.  Can’t hurt to have it on my resume, not to mention that I’ve wanted to learn object-oriented programming for quite some time.
