New page on handling fine threads

Just thought I’d let you know that I’ve created a new page about handling fine threads during the dyeing and unwinding process.  (It’s also accessible via the How Tos–>Weaving menu.)

Fiber-wise, nothing much has happened, but there has been great excitement at the new house as we watch the flooring go in.  They are now almost finished with putting in the flooring and are starting work on installing the baseboards.  The house looks SO much better now!  The walls are a nice clean white and the floors (natural color stranded bamboo) are honey-colored, with enough visual texture to be interesting (and hide scratches!).  It feels light, airy, and clean – quite a difference from the ratty old carpet!

We’ve also put in timers for the sprinkler on the front lawn (installing the actual sprinkler system will happen later) and made a few plumbing changes.  And I’ve officially scheduled the movers for June 23.

pictures? You should take pictures as things happen. I really enjoy having pictures of various things “in progress” around here. I can look at pics of the crew putting in my pool and feel the same “WOW! I am getting a swimming-pool” zing! It’s fun to look at them down the years.
Just had my first peaches off the “doughnut peach” trees I planted three years ago! Hoping for pears next year off the ones I planted at the same time. One of them produced two little, bitty pears the first year but this year, nada. I am praying for bees, now that my squash is blooming, otherwise, I have to get hold of a q-tip and go do a little artificial insemination out there.
    Have a wonderful time!

Yes!!! I want to see the pretty floor!! I just loaded a van with weaving “stuff” to sell at the Maine Fiber Frolic. I hope to not have to bring any more back than last year, one shuttle. This year, I hope the shuttle sells too! Happy packing prayers to you. Wee
