Playing with a (more than) full deck

I was idly considering other things I could do with my mini inkle loom, and remembered that inkle looms can also be used for card weaving! So I went out looking for small card weaving decks. Then I stumbled across custom game manufacturer websites, and realized I could have my own deck printed!

So I spent the last few hours (oh, the idleness!) putting together a deck of 50 cards in Photoshop, each with a different photo of my weaving on it. Here are the first twenty cards:

The colored borders won’t be quite as large in real life – about half their current size. (The remainder will be cut off on printing.)

Each card will be 2.5″ on a side with rounded edges. In addition to the 50 photo cards, each deck contains ten blank cards, making it more than a full deck of playing cards.

I expect that with relatively thin playing card stock, they’ll probably wear out more quickly, so I ordered several decks to compensate. The deck wasn’t at all expensive – I think it was $8.00 for 60 cards, so buying multiples wasn’t a huge issue.

The manufacturer (The Game Crafter) says they should ship Jan 13. I can’t wait!
