On hiatus

I got word this morning that my mother had passed. It was quite unexpected, but it sounds like she died peacefully and without suffering. I’m glad for that, as well as the fact that she kept her vigor and intellectual clarity to the very end, but I will miss her tremendously. I’m on a plane to Maryland and will likely be there for a few weeks.

I’m so sorry, Tien. I lost my mother just two years ago and while she had Alzhimers and did not know us, I still miss her and my dad too. Your mom made such a good impression as seen through your blog entries. So lively and creative. She was “good stuff” and you are obviously carrying on her enthusiam for life.

All best wishes. I know it’s difficult to lose a parent, especially one that you were so close to, and with whom you had such a lot in common. Just be happy for her, that she was able to enjoy life up until the end, with her wits and humor and creativity still firmly in hand.

so sorry to hear of your loss. All the good things that you have shared with her, will always be yours to keep. The hard part is not being able to share all the rest of the lovely things still to come, but I do believe that they see them.
