Chocolate molds and candy boxes

Went to Douglas and Sturgess today for some chocolate mold-making materials, and came away with some paraffin wax and some food-safe silicone moldmaking material.  I plan to take the calligraphy seal (with my name on it) that I bought in China, pour the wax into a thing sheet, stamp the softened wax with the seal, cut the result into square pastilles, and pour silicone over them to make a mold.  Then I can cast chocolates into the resulting mold, and presto!  Chocolates with my name on it, in raised letters.  I have some other cool (but high-labor) ideas too, like prepainting the raised characters with gold sparkle dust, so the name comes out in gold.  Dunno if it will work, but that’s what experimentation is all about.  🙂

Also bought a bunch of 8-oz candy boxes.  I’m torn.  I can’t remember whether I bought 1-lb candy boxes or 8-oz candy boxes last year.  I finally bought 8 oz ones.  If they turn out to be too small, Mike has pointed out that I can just send two boxes – perfect solution.

I have all the gold ribbon pleated for the red-and-black tutu, and unfortunately don’t have quite enough to do what I had been envisioning.  May have to shuffle some things around.
